The following letter was sent to us from Classic
Honda, they have a must see mini. Definitely worth
a visit.
Hello again Glenn,
If you get a chance take a look at my web page and the
little Super Motard that we built out of a 2002 XR50.
The bikes runs right around 78mph and dyno's around
20hp. We have a 5 hour endurance race in about 3 weeks
and we hope to set the little YSR's on there ear, with
this little bike. We will be building another XR50 SUPER-MOTARD
and posting all of the pictures as we go, to give a
blow by blow behind the scenes look at what it takes
to get you from the stock bike to our little BAD BOY.
It is hard to tell the size of the bike in the picture
but it has 14" of ground clearance and a wheel
base equal that of a XR100. 12" NSR racing wheels
and tires as well as NSR disc brake system and 43mm
dia. inverted front forks along with a 16" aluminum
rear swing arm and billet aluminum steering stem.
We have removed the flywheel and installed an inner
rotor and secondary Takegawa Super clutch system, not
on bike in picture. These two items removed all of the
weight off of the crank. Very fast throttle response,
much like a 2-stroke. We are also running a 4-speed
and testing a Kitaco 5-speed for the road race. Our
top end is a Takegawa 125cc Super-Head configuration
with a 28mm Mukini. An oil cooler and mapping device
finish off the bike for a full blown CRAZY RIDE. The
bike is rated for a 240lb rider.
